The American Song Moo Kwan was born of an ideal to reunite and support members of the Song Moo Kwan that the traditions and principles established by Supreme Grand Master and Doju Ro, Byung Jick not be lost. For many the ASMKA was a place to restart their martial arts journey. To recapture what had been lost in years gone by. What has been found are many friends, brothers and sisters, throughout the world seeking a return to training where sport came as a small part of the “whole” martial artist.

Along the way, we have been proud to find the ideals represented in our creed to be a thing of value, sought by many who have not started their careers in the Song Moo Kwan. What we have found are those would be leaders who are craving something more. Who seek personal discipline in the renewal of spiritual training that reflects the proverbial “Eye of the Tiger.”

The American Song Moo Kwan Association’s leadership is in the restoration of a solid curriculum of cross-training in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Kumdo and Ki Bon Mu Gi (martial arts weaponry) and even Kung Fu principles that promote the growth for each individual member, regardless of rank. It reinstalls the challenges we each once found in the pursuit of our Black Belt. Providing a clear and concise curriculum for first through eighth degree black belts – feeling the pride of personal achievement.

You see, the American Song Moo Kwan Association is a support organization to the World Song Moo Kwan Association. Unlike any other martial arts organization, the ASMKA represents the strength of leadership shown by WSMKA Chairman, Grand Master Ro, Hee Sang.

We are here to let the Grand Masters’ Ro know that Song Moo Kwan is as alive and vibrant as ever. That we are its future. And, that we will stand in the shadow of Taekwondo’s Highest Ranking Back Belt in the World, the World’s very first Song Moo Kwan. That we may lead, always.

If you are strong enough, dedicated enough, and ready to lead by example, you are each welcomed into the American Song Moo Kwan Association. You are being prepared for greatness. And your students will never get bored or complacent when working to achieve their ranking. At the end of your journey, you will stand before the World Song Moo Kwan Association’s leaders, knowing you have become one of the best martial artists the world has ever seen.

We welcome each petitioner/member. Whether from Il Do Kwan, Chung Do Kwan, Mu Do Kwan, Ji Do Kwan, or any other association, federation and organization the world has to offer. We are Song Moo Kwan. You are our family. Our home is on the mat, and you are very welcome to join us there. That you may achieve your full potential.
